Being Fancy

Oh we are such girly girls at this house. More often than not you would find all three of us girls in skirts or dresses. Although a significant motivation for me is that a skirt or dress is generally significantly cooler than modest denim shorts or pants.

We inherited two sets of dishes from John's Grandmother. They are the kind that people used to use at wedding receptions. Ever since the girls have seen them, they have been bound and determined to have a tea party with them (or punch party as the case may be).

So while my mom was in town visiting we did it. We also finally whipped out an unused wedding present of a cookie press and made the cutest little cookies with the girls. They were of our own design and not that sweet (John called them more like extra sweet crackers), but the kids loved them. It was so fun to choose the shape and make cookies with it.

We also make fancy three-layer sandwiches which were delish. Added with the watermelon, broccoli and carrots. I felt pretty good about it as a meal. The kiddos were so thrilled. It took most of a day to make all of these things, but it was so worth it. They loved dressing up and drinking their punch all proper-like. :) Love these sweet girls!
