Darcy's Third Birthday

Oh my sweet Darcy. How are you three already? You are everything joyful in life. Just now I set a timer for 20 minutes to get a few minutes of blogging in before making her lunch. She interrupted, "No Mommy, set a timer for 2 minutes because I love 2 minutes." She is so much fun and delight. Her adorableness and irrationality come out in spades, and we love it all. Darcy is such a talker, which adds so much to the adorableness and irrationality. She can say so many words and convey absolute nonsense, but her big eyes, expressive tone, and hand motions make it all amazing
This morning we were doing reading lesson this morning, and she had to interrupt reading words to tell me of her plan to get rid of the play things in our yard and put in a henhouse to get eggs. (She had just read the word 'hen'.) She is so funny. Also this morning, Darcy told me "I am not very good and not being with you."  It was precious.
Darcy loves doing Reading Lesson and Preschool and asks to do it everyday. Maybe it is because we always have a Reading Lesson snack, like after she reads two words she gets a mini marshmallow or raisin. Marshmallows and raisins are her preferred Reading Lesson snack. I know it is like giving my kid pure sugar, but she is also loving learning to read, so I do what I gotta do.
Darcy is definitely at the stage where she narrates what she is doing as she is playing. She loves, LOVES playing pretend games with Holland when she can. I think she just mimics whatever game she has played with Holland when she is playing solo.
We had to give up nursing when Darcy turned three. This made both of us pretty sad. I wrote more about that on a different post, but suffice it to say, I love nursing my babies and can't believe I am never going to do that again. It's heartbreaking, but not enough to actually have another child.
She loves her hair done like this and calls it pig tail buns.

Those fingers are hard to get in the right spot.

Here is a little interview with Darcy (she is almost 3.5 right now).

1. What is something mommy always says to you? "Not play with glass things."

2. What makes you happy? Playing picnic.

3. What makes you sad? In timeouts. When Mommy puts me in a thing that I don't like it.

4. What makes you laugh? Doing jokes.

5. How old are you? I am free. (Three)

6. How old is Mommy? Ummm....eight

7. How old is Daddy? Ummm....nine

8. What is your favorite thing to do? Play hostible (hospital) with Holland.

9. Who is your best friend? Jane

10. What do you want to be when you grow up? Mommy

12. What are you not very good at? Playing with Holland because she keeps getting mad with me, and I keep trying to calm her down and she can't calm down.

13. What did you do today? Reading lesson, preschool, doing marshmallows with Reading Lesson.

14. What is your favorite food? Jam toast! And butter toast.

15. What is your favorite song? The one that I sing in my class, "I love to be a Sunbeam."

16. What do you want for your birthday this year? A Bluey stuffed animal and a Bingo one.

17. What is your favorite animal? Piggies

21. Where is your favorite place to go? To the park! I have never been to the park. I have been at the park two times.

At Darcy's 3 year check up, she weighed 27.34 lbs, which is the 18%. She was 37.4 inches tall, which is the 66.44%. This meant that her BMI is 13.74, which is the 2.27 %. This is up from her previous appointment (I think it was some kind of sick visit) where her BMI was the 0.03%. Darcy is growing wonderfully!

Darcy's birthday dress!
On Darcy's birthday she wanted to do Reading Lesson, play Don't Eat Pete, and watch Bluey. Darcy wanted to to eat chocolate oatmeal, toast and smoothie, and raviolis. She loved all of her presents. Shew as delighted and pleased with each one.

Party hats and decorations.

So many presents for our sweet girl.

Holland got her this cute umbrella. I thought she would want to play with it inside, but she had a rule in her mind that she will not get it out to play with unless she is going outside in the rain.

Eliza gave her these sandbox toys. Darcy loves to play in the sandbox. Ironically those stayed inside for a while before going outside.

Mommy and Daddy gave her a paint with water book. It's adorable, and a shameless attempt to give her something fun to do in her high chair while we play board games.

Probably the favorite gift was these pink sandals. She wears them everywhere! I love that she can put them on herself.

Giant unicorn from Miriam and a suction bath toy to round out the presents. We sure love our girl!

Three candles!

The chocolate pudding was a hit!

We played Don't Eat Pete after dessert. She is the perfect age for that game. Love it.

Holland's Song and Dance + a Haircut

Holland is at such a fun age. I know I just did an update on this girl, but I can resist posting some more pictures and videos. I mean, how can I help taking photos of this girl?!

Holland's best buddies at preschool together. She has gotten a little over attached to Maddy. I don't really want her to emulate Maddy cause she is pretty sassy.

Holly and Mommy. We love each other, so much, except first thing in the morning when sometimes Holland considers me Enemy #1.

These videos of her singing and dancing are so awesome! I love her made up songs.

Sleeping in the car on the way to drop off a couple of things for my dad.

Waking her up before the gym one morning. Her face is pressed up against the bars so hard that it left a mark. I could still see it after breakfast when I took that pic with the spoon.

I love her messy blond curls, but one night she agreed to let me cut her hair. It got a little shorter than I intended. Mainly I was going to for an A-line bob. It isn't perfect, but it is super cute!

That curl on the left side of her face!! So adorable!
