Darcy 6 Months

Six months old! Half a year! How did we get here so quickly?!
Still doesn't like to put those feet down.

At 6 months old, you started making more noise with your mouth open.
You started rolling a lot at this point! You would roll one way, pivot around, and roll another way. You often paused rolling on your side and would balance, poised to keep rolling, but don't for a bit.
You have started holding a lot of your weight on your legs if we stand you up. Getting to be a strong girl!

You love love playing with your feet, I thought this photo was so cute with your toes sticking through the blanket.

You have gotten a lot more interested in toys.
One of your favorite toys is grabbing people's faces. It's my favorite when you grab my face and pull us forehead to forehead. Then you growl-yell into my face while shaking and looking for something to root on. It's how you show me you love me. Seriously.
I also love how you have learned to shake your head. "Shake, shake, shake" with a big smile.
You spit up so much less than you used to. We use a fraction of the burp cloths than we did just a short time ago. Ironically you are probably wetter than ever. Drool has become your constant companion.
Right before writing this, I was sitting at the dinner table with you on my lap while I ate my dinner. Your shirt front was already soaked, but because my hand was there, you got it slathered and big drops landed on your pants. There were even drops on the chair between my legs. Maybe one day we'll learn to swallow that spit.
We love your cute little body. One delightful habit you've gotten into this month is too give us a little laugh or giggle when we tickle your study, squishy tummy. We love it!
Definitely one of your most obvious personality developments this month has been to start playing with your voice. So many ear spitting shrieks! Thankfully you just do this to have fun and not when you're really upset. It sure makes your presence known though! We think you're just darling!

And can we talk about your little laughs?! We are addicted to them! I just heard Ellie call to Miriam who was playing with you, "Don't get all of her laughs before I get there!" You love the interaction and silliness, but can only do so much before you get over stimulated.

It was your first Christmas! Of course you didn't care about anything, but we had to make ornaments to preserve your little hand and footprint. We love you like crazy little one.

These are your Christmas PJs you received on our Dec. 1st party. We love you in them.

Only rarely sticking your hands in my mouth when you nurse now.

We got out the blanket Ellie crocheted for you since it is cold enough now to use it. November and earlier December were warmer than usual this year which meant we didn't need the extra warmer blanket for a while.

But we definitely need it eventually. You loved playing with it--sticking your fingers and toes through the crochet holes.

Your sister Miriam just loves on you and loves taking care of you. There is always a race to go see you after you wake up from a nap.

You still only cuddle us occasionally. We love it so much though.

Christmas morning baby!

So much drool always. You even get your own toes sometimes.

You are learning to sleep in the carrier on hikes like a champ!

We love this cooler hiking weather and that you have been able to get some use out of the crocheted ear hat.

Ellie gave you her blue watch for Christmas. It is maybe your favorite toy. That and a slinky.

Trying out your other Christmas present-the bumbo! Stop growing up so fast!!

Ellie takes such good care of you. She can change you, get you dressed, and even wrap you up and sing to you before bed. You're lucky to have such a wonderful sister.

Trying out your friend's play saucer. I am sad you won't grow up with Brielle like I thought you would.

A cuddle!!!

Sleeping on a hike. Check out those lashes!

I know you're probably thinking, "Enough with the cuddle pictures." Sorry! Can't stop, won't stop.

I love how you lift up your tongue when you smile.

Ahhh...and all of the sudden. You love being read to. It's so sweet but makes my heart hurt how fast you are changing.

Heart melted into a puddle a my feet.

Jammies plus cuddle means mama is in heaven.

Daddy loves it too! All four girls reading scripture stories at bedtime.
