Adventures

This is how Ellie has been a lot recently. She likes to roll over a ton, but can't get on her back once she rolls to her tummy. She gets stuck a lot which results in a bunch of spit up.

We went up to Willard Bay with my family and had a ton of fun. I love Ellie's expression in this picture.
I love the sky in this picture and Anna is adorable!
We also had a family reunion on John's side. It was so fun to see everyone. We did this really cool thing where everyone talked about their childhood memories. It was so entertaining to see what people talked about.

One of my favorites was how one time John's older siblings accidentally broke a water pipe in the basement. I quote from Sarah's story:

"I remember Mom and Dad had gone out, and we kids were playing house. I was of course, the "Mom" and David was play the "Dad." This happened back when the basement wasn't finished, and Mom used to hang laundry on lines she tied to the pipes in the walls. Well David was swinging on a line, as we did often, I am sure, and it happened to break the water pipe. We were so panicked and worried. So we went and got the Meli kids to help us. They had a 15 year old, I think it was Eni, and she called the plumber. He thought it was a prank call, so wouldn't come. We didn't know what else to do, so we ran outside, and I remember Jeff yelling at the top of his lungs, Mom and Dad, come home!" Oh a cell phone would have come in so handy then. I just knew that water would rise up the stairs, so I went upstairs, got Spencer out of his crib, and carried him to the Hasting's house, about 7 or 8 houses down the street. That should have been far enough, I thought. Well, eventually our parents got home, turned off the water, and we started cleaning up. We had to scoop the water up and carry it to the floor drain in the laundry room. Things were wet for a long time. "

It was so fun to hear the different stories. This was Ellie's experience at the family reunion. The kids loved to come over and peak at her while she was supposed to be taking a nap. She LOVED all of the attention!
We also took Ellie on her first camping trip. She did pretty well, despite having a hard time going to sleep that night. She still slept the whole night through. We are pretty lucky!
I love this picture of Lucas!
Thanks guys for picking out such a cool campsite!
Thanks to Marc and Miriam for organizing the whole thing!
She is just getting more smiley and laughy all of the time. Such a wonderful little baby!

She's a talker!

Please excuse the weird noises John and I made while trying to get her to talk. They're embarrassing.

Bear Lake

Last weekend John and I went to Bear Lake with some friends in our ward. We had an excellent time. It got the bug of wanting to go somewhere out of me for about a week. :) We stayed in a time share type of place, and spent a long weekend relaxing. It was a wonderful little trip!
Ellie's and her friend Madeleine's experience at the beach. She did like being pushed in the stroller on the boardwalk to get to the beach though. Put her to sleep like a charm.
We went to a driving range. It was the first time I had done anything besides miniature golf. It was quite embarrassing really because I had a hard time connecting the club to the golf ball. I think I made it past 50 yards a time or two though. :)
One thing that we saw was Paris Spring, which was pretty astonishing because of the amount of water.
While we were there Ellie rolled over for the first time. I am so proud of her! :)

Three Years

On May 4 it was 3 years to the day from when John and I met. It doesn't seem like it has been that long, but when I think about all that has happened I am just so glad that he knocked on my door that night. We started dating almost immediately and the rest is history. It just made me reflect on how lucky I am to have married such a wonderful guy.

This picture is from when we were dating. We got all-sport passes together and had a wonderful time cheering on BYU.

Our wedding day was so amazing! It all seems like a dream now, but it was the best decision I have ever made.John really is my best friend. We have so much fun together.

John is such a good student. He works so hard, and I am so proud of him.

I am so lucky to have married a guy that is willing to go on adventures for me. He is such a good sport with all of my crazy plans.
Since Ellie was born John has been my hero. He always goes above and beyond to take care of her. He is such a good father.

He makes us both so happy. I love you, John. Thanks for making the last three years the best!

Blessing day

Yesterday Ellie was blessed. She was such a good girl throughout the day despite the fact that it was so crazy. We had 41 people in our 2 bedroom apartment!!! Last Friday my sister took these awesome pictures of Ellie in her blessing dress. It is the same dress that I was blessed in.

Ellie's smiles

She doesn't love the headbands so she doesn't smile quite as big when their in.

Slobber smiles!!!
Second smile on camera.
This is her first smile caught on camera.

How to know when to cut

I have always been lazy when it comes to cutting my fingernails, but something happened a couple of days ago that made me realize I need to be more diligent about it. Ellie had just spit up all over my shirt. Normally, I just live with the spit up on my shirt, but this one was bad enough to not ignore. So I go to change my shirt, and I scratch myself on my elbow. I think I said 'ow' but didn't really think anything of it. A minute or two later, I noticed that I had something we dripping down my arm. I investigate and sure enough, I am bleeding because of this scratch.

That night I told John about how sharp my fingernails are and how I couldn't believe that I had drawn blood while changing my shirt. The ironic thing is that when I was changing into my pajamas later on, it happened again! Twice on the same arm! I took this as a sign that I needed to cut my fingernails.
