Sleeping on the job

Ellie has occationally been skipping her nap during the day. This is the result:

Baby Quilt

A couple of weeks ago I finished my first ever quilt. It was a project that started out as just a learning experience. I was surprised that it actually ended up being really fun. My friend gave me the fabric for the top, and my mom helped me quilt it and do the binding. Ellie likes rubbing the fabric together. While she was doing it, I got some fun pictures of her. She was so happy. Isn't she pretty?

She slept through the party...

There was another Easter egg hunt up at Grandpa and Grandma's house. It was sure fun. Too bad Ellie slept through it. Maybe I should have woken her up when it was time to go outside, but she only takes one nap a day. I just couldn't sacrifice it. Anyway, here she is finding her basket nicely filled when she woke up.

These little plastic eggs are such fun toys. Ellie has been playing with them all week.

So Sick

Two weekends ago Ellie and I got pretty sick. We got the stomach flu. I have never seen my little girl so weak. It was super sad. She threw up everything for a full 24 hours and just couldn't even move with exhaustion. She fell asleep on the floor with all of us around her. Fortunately she has recovered just fine and is back to getting into everything. Who knew I would be grateful for that? :)
I am so glad that John didn't get sick, but he still had to do school work so my mom came down and took care of us. I feel really bad though that she ended up getting sick with the same thing later that week.

Easter Egg Hunt

Today was Ellie's first ever Easter egg hunt. It was pretty chilly with the wind, but fortunately she is just getting big enough for her winter coat. We had a good time exploring the playground and finding eggs. She really liked the swings.

Ellie's never been on a toddler sized swing before, and she loved it! I think that when the weather turns a little bit warmer we might have to make a habit of going to the park and swinging.

Didn't love the slide though. The sun was in her face, and it was a little scary even with her Daddy hanging on to her.
They had a 0-3 Easter Egg hunt. We just put her down next to two isolated eggs during the hunt, and she had fun investigating them.

1. Can there ever be too much lace? Shocker--she didn't go for the hat.2. John decided to go for it and get a PhD. Lots more school...

Swaddling

So the other day while Ellie was supposed to be taking a nap, I kept hearing this clunking and decided to investigate. I walked in on this. Do you think it is time to give up on swaddling her?? The wrap we use to swaddle her is at her feet. I have no idea how she got it completely off. The most she has ever gotten out before is just her arms. Crazy girl!!
