We didn't buy all-sport passes this year. Mostly this is because of our parents. John and I were both raised to not spend money on non essentials when we really should be saving it. I don't think that either of us are as good as our parents are at this, but still we have some of that in our blood. Therefore, even though we both really enjoy going to games (especially football and basketball games), for the second year in a row we didn't get all-sport passes. However, we decided that we would go to at least one game this year and just buy regular tickets. This actually turned out to be more of an ordeal than we thought it would be. When John went to buy tickets for a game (we weren't sure which game we could get tickets for) he found out that the New Mexico game was the only game that wasn't sold out. Not only that, but there were five tickets left in the whole stadium. He bought four of those for the two of us and his cousin Glenn and Glenn's wife Andrea.
The weather forecast for the game didn't look so great. We were told that it would probably rain and possibly snow. So, we really bundled up for the game. It didn't end up raining or snowing thankfully, but the wind did get pretty chilly.
It was a fun game, even though I couldn't believe it when New Mexico scored first!! BYU came back strong and the second half we particularly dominated. I felt a little bad for New Mexico at the end of the game when the last three plays resulted in BYU sacking their QB three times.

Maybe it is a sign of my impending motherhood, but I was probably just as entertained by the little boy next to us as by the game. He was bundled up a snow suit, complete with gloves, boots, hat, and scarves. I say scarves because there were several. I wish I had gotten a picture of him. He couldn't hardly move (picture the boy on the movie A Christmas Story).
His mother kept trying to keep him happy by showing him the helicopter and the band. The problem was that he couldn't turn his head any direction except forward. The only thing that really kept him entertained was trying to eat some treats she had for him. He had to work really hard to get the food to his mouth. Poor kid. It was a lesson on when to get a babysitter for John and me.
Afterwards, we decided to go to Cafe Rio. We had a free meal coupon. The only problem was that the post game traffic was not so neat. I found myself getting unreasonably frustrated at the cars that would zoom ahead in the other lane and then have to merge back in a block later. Whew, I am getting a little angry just writing about it. :) We eventually made it and thoroughly enjoyed our steak and chicken salads.

Special mention to my husband for his awesome expressions in these pictures. :)

Wahoo!!! Season 5 of the Office starts tonight. John and I started watching the office last Novemberish, right in time for the writers strike. Thanks to our neighbors, Jeff and Debbie, who lent us the seasons, we have watched all of the seasons twice since then, and many episodes a lot more than that. A couple of things I have been wondering about (along with the rest of the world): love triangles--Dwight, Angela, Andy (ewwww!!) and Michael, Jan, Holly (also very icky); of course, Pam going off to art school--how is this going to affect Jim and Pam's relationship?? Anyway, the office is hilarious. I actually heard a rumor that Steve Carell signed on for 6 more seasons of it. I wonder what they are going to do with the show for that many seasons...
