House Listing Photos

I don't understand why photos sometimes upload in backwards order. But I guess in this case it really doesn't matter. I wanted to save the photos from our house listing. They turned out great. It makes me sad to go through these photos. We put so much work into this house.

So many thoughts about this photo. The valencia tree that was starting to really produce fruit. The banana tree peeking through. We spent so much time and effort making this yard nice. The tipu trees have grown so much. We're pretty sure the new owners aren't going to take as good of care of it as we did, how could they? :)

Aww, that pool. We loved our little pop up pool. We're still hoping it works out at the Provo house.

The lemon tree that my mom had at her house and did so well when we planted it. The fig tree that was so interesting and fun.

The garden boxes that we built. The tipu tree that almost died in the record breaking heat summer. The plumeria in the pots and the satellite dish that never quite got taken down.

The view I am the most used to. We love this little yard. I don't mind giving up the view of mainly the neighbor's house on the one side, but I have a lot of fond feelings for most of it. I don't know if it was a blessing or not, but right before we left we found a couple more scorpions. One was on the fence, right by John's hand. Another was right by our front door, and it was giant! John smashed it with a shovel, and I only saw the tail, but it was as big as a finger.

New floor and shelves above the washer and dryer. You're welcome new owners. Besides the garage, this is the only place we never painted in the house.

Darcy's room. I love how we staged this room. My friend Natalie lent me some decor and helped me arrange furniture. It was really nice.

Brand new bathroom that is one million times better than the previous one, not exaggerating. Beautiful quartz that matches the kitchen. Big vanity with lots of functional storage. Tile in the shower area that goes all the way to the ceiling. That amazing, huge niche. So much better.

Holland's room that I still think of as Ellie's room.

Ellie's hammock chair is still there. I hope they hang another one there because the hardware is still in the ceiling.

Miriam and Eliza's room. It's crazy to think that they shared this small of a room. Their new room is so much bigger. I still get sick when I think about that ceiling fan hitting Holland's eye. That is what that light fixture reminds me of.

So pretty. I can't believe they only took one photo of this bathroom.

Mine and John's room. Still feels like home.

Oh, except so much of our stuff was being stored in the garage. It kills me that so much of our things were out there and the house still looks fully furnished.

One more bathroom. We put a lot of work into this one too.

I love how Natalie staged our house. She should start a business.

There are so many things that we did that you can't even notice. Like switching out so many blinds, light fixtures, and baseboards.

That plant on the counter looks a lot happier there. All of my plants are wanting to die ever since we moved to Utah. I wonder how many we're going to lose.

That penisula with the custom shelves! Cutting down the bar top and extending the penisula was the best decision. Painting all those cabinets. Flooring, lighting, new appliances. The single basin, cast iron sing. The nice faucet and soap dispensers. That backsplash that is just the right amount of subtle interest.

That pantry seems tiny compared to our new one.

Miss that dishwasher, but especially that quartz. So pretty.

Small but beautiful kitchen. So much work.

Can't forget about the undercabinet lights. We want to put those in our new kitchen.

A formal dining area! I miss that. I love the runner and centerpiece Natalie brought.

We left the mirror tiles on the wall. I hope they wanted them.

Our main living room. Looks a little emptier than we kept it, but it still looks great. I love the laminate flooring that we put in. It is so pretty.

This still feels like home. I am sure that one day the new house will make me feel this way.

That door that we finished. The arched windows that we agonized over what to do about.

That plumeria! I hope the Forsyths didn't kill it. The pony palm too!

Those totem poles. Seriously that whole front yard. So much effort and time put there.

I miss that house. We wanted to move to a bigger house anyway, but it is still sad to leave it. I think when we put THAT much time and effort and money into something we're going to grow attached to it. There are also all of the fun memories. So much love and joy and giggles and squeals happened there. What a wonderful home.
